Cast Iron Cookwares from John Lewis

ル・クルーゼ風のCast Iron（日本語で「鋳物ホーロー」。ちょっとイメージが違うかな。。。）鍋（22cm）とフライパン（26cm）をとうとう手に入れた。John Lewisというイギリスのミドルクラスご愛用の、高品質の商品を提供するデパートの冬のウェブセール初日に、サーバーにつながりにくいのを我慢してようやく手に入れたもの。本当は、Figというダークパープルのラインで、グリル用のフライパンも欲しかったのだけれど、チェックアウトしようと思ったら既に売り切れだった。残念！

お値段は、鍋が半額以下の£29.25（定価£80。今日のレート£１＝133円で4000円弱。今は大変な円高ポンド安）、フライパンは£17.00（約2300円）。日本でのル・クルーゼが定価３万円なので、大変お買い得ですよね。John Lewisのストアブランドだけど、見た目もそっくり。品質もJohn Lewisであれば悪くはないと思います。翌日にウェブサイトをチェックしてみたら、すべての商品が売り切れだった。これから、レシピ等をチェックして愛用しようと思います。

I bought Le Creuset-like French cast iron pot (22cm) and Frypan (26cm) on the first day of John Lewis online sale. John Lewis is a chain of upmarket department stores operating throughout UK and popular among the British middle class for its high quality goods. The connection to the store web site was very slow on the first day of the sale, and although I wanted to buy a pot and a frypan in Fig color (dark purple) and also a grill pan, but these were sold out when I tried to check out…

Price? The pot was half price and £29.25, and frypan was £17.00. Le Creuset 20cm pot costs £76 so it was a big bargen! These are John Lewis brand but look the same as Le Creuset’s, and I can trust the quality of John Lewis products. I checked the website again the day after, and all the cast iron cookware were sold out! Now I have to look up the recipes for those.
