Cha Cha Moon: Chinese Noodle Bar

(The Times/The Guardian/The Independent)の評価は、あまり芳しくないけれど、場所柄、若者を中心に大にぎわいだ。

Cha Cha Moon is a Chinese noodle bar, opened last May on Ganton street adjucent to Carnaby Street. This casual Chinese is another creation by Alan Yau (a co-producer of Princi). Although the scores by the restaurant critiques (The Times/The Guardian/The Independent) are not very good, but it is always busy with mainly young crowds. The price is reasonable, and the food is not bad. As other restaurans of Alan Yau, the interior is modern but easy, with long wooden communal tables and bamboo ceilings, although from the outside it looks like a night club. On warmer days, you can eat at the outside tables on the courtyard. I like its see-through kitchen because it gives us a sense of what is going on behind the door. The bad thing is that they don’t accept reservation, and you will be on the line for quite a long time during the busy time. Even you get the seats, you always feel rushed and feel claustrophobic by sitting close with each other. Therefore we go there at later time (after 9pm) for quick fix. If you want to enjoy the eating experience, avoid weekend+busy time. In the last few years, new modern style Chinese restaurants are opening, and the trend gives a fresh perspective from the old ugly stereotypical Chinese restaurants.
