Car-shaped Bike Port @ Jackman Street, off Broadway Market

今までのところ、Wilton Way、Finsbury Park Road、Provost Street、Jackman Street、Fremont Street、Gransden Avenueに設置されたという。

I found this car-shaped bike rack on Jackman Street, when we had a lunch on Broadway Market (sorry for a bad quality photo…).

This is “One Car, ten bikes trial” by Borough of Hackney, and these Car Bike Ports, produced by Cyclehoop, can take ten bicycles in a single car parking space. As of January 9 when the website of Borough of Hackney last updated, they have 3 car bike ports at the moment, and are testing them out in different locations for up to eight weeks at a time, by moving them around the borough to see where they get the most use. Therefore, they encourage their residents to look out for them, use them and vote. The borough will consider making them permanent at most popular locations. So far, the car bike ports have visited Wilton Way, Finsbury Park Road, Provost Street, Jackman Street, Fremont Street and Gransden Avenue, according to their website.

Very cute, and make a point clear – a car takes up too much space!

↓ Exmouth Market

I also like this bicycle parking rack + planter “PlantLock” ↓, that I saw on Exmouth Market. Great idea of 2 in 1.
