Tinderbox cafe @ Angel, Islington

TinderboxTinderbox

There are not many nice cafes with everything (decent food + drinks + interior) in Angel/Islington area. Sweets/cakes at Euphorium Bakery (Upper street shop is more spacious & better) are yummy, but their sandwiches are so-so. Famous Ottolenghi is always packed with people. The foods at Fig & Olive (with modern + sophisticated decor on Upper Street) and Macondo (Camden Passage), are not up to the high standard. There are 4 Starbucks in Angel, but I am not a big fan of their 80’s style interior, and after all it is a chain and nothing special. Tinderbox cafe near the Angel tube station is popular, but another cafe with bad food. Their sandwiches and cakes are dry and don’t have much tastes. The cafe recently moved to N1 shopping mall from Upper Street, and becomes modern and more spacious. However, their food menu doesn’t have any improvement. Drinks (coffee + tea) is not bad to be fair. You can have high quality (but a bit pricey) SUKI Tea in a pot. Convenient location, and good place to have a rest or a chat with your friends (without food). Check if a seat is available before you order, as it is always crowded.
